Paper Specifications

GSM stands for grams per square meter and represents the density of the paper. Higher GSM values indicate thicker, heavier, and more durable paper. Common weights include 80 GSM for standard office paper and 300+ GSM for cardstock.

Coated paper has a smooth surface created using clay or polymer coatings, ideal for vibrant, high-quality prints. Uncoated paper has a natural, porous finish and is better suited for writing, notetaking, and a softer print appearance.

Brightness measures how much light is reflected off the surface of the paper. Higher brightness levels produce crisper text and more vivid colors. Most office paper ranges from 92 to 100 brightness.

Opacity describes how transparent or opaque a sheet of paper is. Higher opacity reduces show-through when printing double-sided documents.

Most home and office printers work well with standard 75–90 GSM paper. Photo printers benefit from glossy or semi-gloss coated paper, while laser printers perform best with paper specifically rated for toner adhesion.

Recycled paper is produced from post-consumer waste such as used documents, packaging, or paper scraps. The fibers are cleaned, processed, and blended to create environmentally friendly paper products.

Not exactly. Matte paper may have a coated surface that reduces glare while preserving detail, whereas uncoated paper has no coating at all and feels more natural or textured.

Archival paper is acid-free, lignin-free, and designed to resist yellowing and deterioration over long periods. It is ideal for photographs, artwork, and important documents meant to last decades.
